Reese Witherspoon's Daily Green Smoothie
All around super-woman Reese Witherspoon shared her favorite green smoothie recipe, which she has had every single morning for the last 9 years—wow! She also shared that she got the recipe from Kerry Washington, after asking her at an awards show how she got her skin so flawless and glowy. Naturally, we had to give it a try.
Reese's Daily Green Smoothie
Yield: 2 servings
2 heads romaine lettuce (yep, two entire heads!)
1/2 cup spinach
1 apple
1 pear
1 banana
1 whole lemon (she chops the rind off)
1/2 cup coconut water
Optional: 1 tablespoon of almond butter, vanilla protein powder
The verdict: We chose to use the optional add-ins, a little blood-sugar balancing protein and fat to round out all of the delicious fruit. We added organic vanilla protein powder and a tablespoon of almond butter. It was delicious! And felt amazing to consume so many whole vegetables and fruits. Fully committed to keeping this going if we start glowing like Reese and Kerry!
